State airlines, they support connections both between Indian cities, as well as neighboring countries. Handling of domestic calls, especially routes: Mumbai-Delhi, Bombay-Kolkata, Delhi-Calcutta and Bombay-Madras, is handled by an international carrier – Indian water.
For many years, the only carrier operating in India, apart from the above-mentioned ones, was the state-owned company Vayudoot, whose planes took off from small airports, located mainly in the northeastern states.

Passengers very often complained about the low standard of services, not tasty food, flight delays and cancellations; and difficulties in booking. Traveling by plane around India was therefore not the most pleasant.
Fortunately, the situation is gradually improving, and the launch of new airlines has not only given travelers a choice, but also helped to improve the quality of Indian Airlines service, which not wanting to lose customers, they had to become competitive. The new lines formed an association called ATO, associating the following lines: East West, cooperating with Malaysian Airlines, modesair, connected with the German Lufthansa, Sahara Indian Airlines, Archana Airways, Jagson Airlines, NEPC and Jet Airways.
Seat reservation
Because all the major offices at Indian Airlines airports are now computerized, it is very easy to get detailed flight information and make a reservation. The only obstacle are the long lines. Please note, seat reservations are made so early, as soon as possible.
Private carriers have also introduced a computerized seat reservation system.
Tickets
You pay for the Indian Airlines plane ticket with a foreign currency, by credit card or rupees, however, then you will need a currency exchange certificate. The rest is issued in rupees.
For the children below 2 a year only pays 10% normal ticket price, however, such a discount can only be obtained by one child in the family. Children aged from 2 do 12 years they travel with a 50% discount. No discounts for foreign students, but adolescents from the age of 12 do 30 years receives a discount of 25%.
Adult tickets can be returned at any office, for which a fee is charged 100 INR. Refunds do not apply to children's tickets. The money is not refunded, when your flight is delayed or canceled. If the passenger does not show up 30 minutes before departure, then it cannot claim reimbursement; also when the traveler loses the ticket; in the latter case, Jndian Airlines can only issue a new one.
Ticket prices
Ticket prices are usually the same for all carriers, on some routes, however, you have to pay more, hedgehogs I and use the services of private airlines.
