Delhi – accommodation, hotel

Appreciate it (Paharganj) The Main Bazaar starts right in front of the New Delhi Railway Station. This narrow street runs west from the station and is about a kilometer long. The proximity of the station made, that Main Bazaar has become the main accommodation center for Indians and foreigners. Today, as it seems, it is also a magnet for Russian trade frolics. On this crowded one, the bustling market has it all, what your heart desires – from incense sticks to washing machines. It takes patience to walk through the Main Bazaar at any time. There are hotels of various classes all along the street.

Walking from the station, first hotel, what we encounter, to Kanishta (*525365). It is not very popular due to the proximity of the station, and the noisy Qutab Rd does not add to its attractions. Air-cooler room, bathroom, TV and balcony 300 INR; warm water in a bucket.

Kailash Guest House (*7774993) under no. 4469 it is modern, clean and quite nice. It's a little stuffy in the blind rooms; the ones with windows are good. Turning right into a side street, not too far from the Bright Guest House, you come to the very popular Namaskar Hotel (*7521234, 7522233) at Chandiwalan 917. It's a nice hotel; two brothers are leading it, who care about the well-being of their guests. All rooms have windows and bathrooms. There is a gas stove on each floor and hot water is plentiful (in buckets). The hotel has free luggage storage for guests and filtered, chilled and potable water. It is not the cheapest, but it's worth paying a little extra. Single / double / triple / four: 150/200/300/400 INR. Air-conditioned rooms: 400 INR. It is a delicious place, considering, that the hotel arranges cheap bus tickets and rents cars for trips outside the city.

Cameron Lodge (*526053) is further on the Main Bazaar at no. 1116. This somewhat strange hotel provides its customers with a slogan: „Trusted lodging house for distingished people” – "Trusted hotel for respected citizens". The Camran Lodge is set in an old labyrinthine building. The rooms are small, shabby and cheap. Single / double without bathroom: 60/100 INR; double with bathroom 125 INR; hot water free of charge. in a bucket. At no. 1534-50 Hotel Vivek is located (*7777062). Hotel Anoop (*735219), under no. 1566, it's clean and worth the money. The rooms have private bathrooms, warm water, they are large and tiled with marble, thanks to which there is a pleasant coolness here. He lives there… a bit like in a tomb. A highlight of the hotel is the roof terrace and snack bar. Single / double: 160/ 200 INR, hotel day lasts 24 time.

Hotel Sapna (*524066) is located at the Main Bazaar at Rajguru Rd. It has a low standard, it is a bit shabby, but it is suitable for an apartment. Better to choose hotdAjanta (*7520925), Arakashan Rd 36. It is enjoyable, clean and modern. It is popular among tourists looking for a bit of comfort. Taxis can be booked at the hotel, also to the airport.

The Crystal Hotel is just a few steps away (*7531639), Arakashan Rd 8501 (It is impossible to understand Delhi's building numbering system!). The rooms are pretty good, slightly cheaper than at the Ajanta hotel; single / double with bathroom 245/325 INR plus 50 INR for the TV. Crystal is almost adjacent to the similar Syal Hotel (*510091), Arakashan Rd 43.
